The Just Like Family team at Gordon Manor provides heartfelt, professional care for our assisted living and memory care clients at our relaxed and welcoming residential living community in Redwood City, California. We have been serving our community with senior care since 1983.

We provide a high-quality care program. Our care staff, nurses, care coordinators, medication team, and our administrators form a robust network of care delivery. We use appropriate technology tools to enable us to continually improve our care and provide unlimited training opportunities for our staff.

We have been serving our community’s elderly population for over 30 years. We are caring for the 2nd generation of Just Like Family residents. It takes a village, and Redwood City is an amazing village to be a part of. We are proud to be serving our neighborhood seniors.

Family

At Gordon Manor, our residents are cared for and treated like a loving family. We make it our priority to establish personal relationships with you and your family to ensure the best care. Our family-centered approach is something that comes naturally to us because we are proudly family owned and managed. Our team of employees are like our extended family, which makes caring for yours second nature!

Music

Music is an essential component to our program. We invite world-class musicians to play for us through the Music in Place program. We enjoy the amazing music of our current resident and staff performers. We also benefit from our youth and community volunteers.

Gardens

Gordon Manor is located on 2.7 acres on what used to be flower farms. We have retained much of the expansive gardens from these days gone by and still cultivate flowers, fruits, and vegetables for all of us to enjoy.

Art

The art program encourages our residents to exercise patience, creativity, diligence, and concentration which, when facilitated appropriately, gives the artist a deep sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. Furthermore, our hallways are lavishly decorated with art of our current and former residents!

Activities of Daily Living

People come to Gordon Manor because they need supervision and care. We encourage and support independence and agency, yet are always there should one need an expert helping hand. We provide assistance with the activities of daily living: bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility. We encourage physical exercise, whether that be walking and dancing, or standing and weightbearing.

Medication

We provide medication management to ensure accuracy and monitoring of compliance. This team is comprised of a licensed registered nurse and specifically trained medication aides.

Dementia

Our setting and program are designed with cognitive impairment in mind. Our trained and experienced staff coordinate with the resident medical team and family to provide a safe, enriching, and loving environment. Everything from our activities program, our dietary nutrition program, and our laundry and housekeeping staff are there to serve our dementia residents. There are many hallways and outdoor spaces to walk freely and safely. We also use a wander technology system to help us locate and alert us should they try to exit unsupervised. You don’t need your memory to live at Gordon Manor!

Recreation

Exercise, music, art, camaraderie, plants, outdoors, and food. We have a wide variety of activities that are expertly led by specialists as well as our enthusiastic in-house activities team. We invite our extended community to join us, so we have visitors from local schools, churches, musicians, artists, and other performers.

Dining & Nutrition

We provide 3 healthful meals every day. Meals are mainly served in the dining room in a supported social environment. We assist with eating and other dietary needs as they arise. Additional snacks and beverages are provided during our activities program and are available round the clock.

Care Management

We have a solid team of administrators who manage the care of all of our residents. We use appropriate technology to allow us to access and process the data we need to evaluate our residents’ needs. We monitor the delivery of care as well as the physical and psycho-social changes that we may see develop over time. We work with the residents’ medical team and family to address the needs as they arise.

Home

Although we are a medium-sized facility with over 50 rooms, our layout is more like bedrooms in a large house than apartments in an apartment building. As such, our residents are living in the whole space and not in their individual rooms. We have plenty of indoor space to roam, common areas to share activities, a common dining area, and many windows and glass doors that let in a lot of light.

Hospice

We want residents and their families to have the peace of mind of knowing that the final stages of life will still be as comfortable as possible. We are licensed to accept residents who need hospice care and have strong relationships with local hospice agencies. The hospice agency becomes a part of our team to provide excellent end-of-life care for our residents as well as support services for their families.
