Welcome to Terry Home
Terry Home is a place of hope and healing for young adults with traumatic brain injuries (TBI). We provide housing in a non-institutional, home-like environment where our approach is personalized, focusing on each resident’s unique needs and potential. Our mission is nurturing our residents towards more independent living, with over 14 graduates since our inception in 1996.
We provide comprehensive housing solutions for up to 22 young adults with TBI, providing a unique setting designed to feel like a true home. Our goal is nurturing independence, with a proven track record and a lively, engaging atmosphere that promotes fun, healing, and personal growth.
We celebrate our residents’ success as they transition from intensive care to pursuing hobbies and employment, representing our commitment to rehabilitation and joy.
Journey Towards Independence
Terry Home offers specialized care for young adults with traumatic brain injuries (TBI), focusing on fostering independence through structured programs and activities. Established in 1996 in Pacific, WA, and expanded in 2013 in Auburn, WA, our homes provide a serene environment close to essential amenities. Our 24-hour trained staff ensures a safe, nurturing space for our residents.
Our Homes
Terry Home operates two residences equipped with features like handrails, wider entries, and wheelchair-accessible areas to promote dignity and independence. Each resident enjoys a private 144 sq ft room with personal amenities. Common areas include spacious living rooms, activity rooms with exercise equipment and computers, and outdoor patios for socializing. Residents are encouraged to participate in events in the community.
Terry Home Auburn
A 5,400 sq ft facility in Auburn, WA, accommodating 12 residents, including dedicated spaces for veterans.
Enhancing Life Skills and Enjoyment
Residents engage in diverse activities to enhance their skills and well-being, including:
- Adaptive living skills
- Social and interaction training
- Money management and cognitive therapy
- Recreational activities including movies, dining, and events
Admission Criteria
Candidates for admission should meet the following criteria:
- Medically stable, without the need for 24-hour nursing care.
- Absence of severe behavioral problems (appropriate for congregate care living).
Hope and Progress
At Terry Home, every resident’s progress is celebrated, with many moving towards more independent living since our inception. We offer a variety of excursions and activities, ensuring a vibrant and engaging experience for all residents.
