Heritage on the Marina is proud to be one of San Francisco’s longest-serving retirement communities. It is a non-profit corporation owned and operated by the San Francisco Ladies’ Protection and Relief Society, one of California’s oldest philanthropic organizations, established in 1853.

Living Options

Residential

Most residents join the community at our Residential Living level, for maximum independence and self-sufficiency. Our Independent Living apartments are ideally suited for singles or couples. They include services like housekeeping and laundry, so you have more free time and the freedom to be independent.

Francisco Street & Octavia Street Apartments

Heritage on the Marina has three additional properties for active adults 65+ on Francisco Street and Octavia Street. These apartments offer the same great full-service amenities, 1- or 2-bedroom apartments, with full kitchens, washers and dryers, flexible security and 30 meals a month.

Floor Plans

Choose from classic studio, deluxe studio, 1- or 2-bedroom apartments and enjoy amenities like a fitness center, private outdoor gardens, patios, a dining room, common lounge areas, an art studio, library and beauty salon.

Assisted Living

Heritage on the Marina is a place where residents find a supportive environment that includes assistance when you need it. Our caring team of professionals assist with healthcare, personal care, household tasks and recreational events. Assisted Living residents enjoy the benefit of regularly participating in outings and activities with the help of our dedicated staff and volunteers.

At Heritage on the Marina, we provide a high staff-to-resident ratio at every level of care – allowing us to provide uniquely personalized attention.

Wellness & Community Life

Our approach is holistic, focusing on all dimensions of wellness, helping residents optimize a healthy and well-balanced life. We offer a wide variety of classes including: Tai Chi, Yoga, Balance and Posture classes. Residents can enjoy lectures around topics relevant to the mind, body and spirit, or schedule one-on-one sessions based on their health and fitness goals.

Memory Support Activities

Memory care is a particular kind of care provided to those with mild to moderate cognitive impairment. It involves creating a structured environment that has set schedules and routines in place to create a stress-free lifestyle, safety features to ensure the health of a senior and programs designed to maintain a healthy mind.

The Out & About Program

Every Tuesday we offer weekly outings to local attractions around the Bay Area, from restaurants, museums, theaters, nature experiences and shopping excursions.
