Nestled in a forested hillside above old town Monterey, for over 20 years Carmelo Park has provided tender care in a beautiful, serene setting.

Carmelo is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with caregivers who do their work out of a place of compassion and respect for our residents. Our staff is highly trained, initially and ongoing. Our night staff conduct hourly checks on our residents and assist with any restroom and medication needs at night. At Carmelo Park, our caregivers make all the difference for our residents!

When you and your loved ones are first greeted at Carmelo Park, you are being welcomed in by the Owners of our community. When your loved ones are residing with us, they are being cared for by excellent staff with decades of elder care experience. When you move into Carmelo Park, you become part of our family, not a part of a large company. It’s been that way since 1994, when our community was first built, and that family atmosphere and attention to care has continued to this day.

At Carmelo Park, we also understand the importance of individuality. Our resident’s routines are designed to sustain a sense of well-being and personal independence. Activities are professionally planned and implemented by our Activities Director.

Amenities

Carmelo Park boasts a beautiful facility designed and built in 1994 with assisted living in mind. Each bedroom features lots of natural light, his and her closets and private half bathrooms. All bedrooms and bathrooms are equipped with call bells. Our common areas provide serene views into the surrounding forest and lots of space. We have some wonderful additional facility space like our library, activity room, beauty salon, and outdoor decks which are safe, sunny and welcoming.

Activities

Activities play a key role in life at Carmelo Park. There is always an opportunity to participate in personal or group activities in the arts and crafts area, the library, or at community events. Our activity coordinator plans programs along with the residents – allowing them to continue to pursue those talents they have developed over the years and also to discover new areas of interest. We publish a monthly activity calendar and we take time to encourage each resident, every day, to join us for activities. Cost of Care

Carmelo Park is an affordable alternative to nursing homes or extensive in-home care. We provide personalized services at reasonable monthly rates. As a family-owned business, we are committed to working with families according to their financial abilities. Please contact us if you feel we are the right setting for your loved one but are worried that the cost may be a bit out of reach. We will make every effort to work with you!

Cost of care is determined by requested room accommodations (private or shared) and an individual’s level of needed care. We conduct an in-depth pre-assessment with your loved one to help determine needed level of care.

• No long-term contracts, community fees, or admission fees.
• No hidden fees or à la carte pricing.
• Set monthly rate for an individual’s total board and care.
