Hospice Care

The philosophy at Astoria is that life is much more than physical health. Our Hospice care is designed to treat the whole person emotionally, socially, spiritually and physically by providing comfort and support to patients and their families when diagnosed with a terminal illness.

Hospice care is focused on comfort and quality of life at the end of life. Our Hospice-trained staff is dedicated to maintaining the comfort and dignity of the individual. Our goal is to control pain and other symptoms so a loved one can remain as alert and comfortable as possible. We work with the medical staff (the physician and registered nurse) to establish the requirements for patient and family education, and to set the goals and guidelines for the patient’s care.

Memory Care

Astoria can assist individuals who may need help with their day-to-day tasks and is staffed with caregivers who are able to help in bathing, dressing, and grooming. We offer dining programs and structured activities. Astoria is a great choice for individuals with mild to moderate memory impairment without having to fully relinquish independence. We provide:

Secure Areas

24-hour supervision and alarm systems—staff are knowledgeable in how to respectfully and humanely redirect a resident back to the appropriate activity or location.

Medication Assistance

Medication management and administration—trained staff are qualified to distribute doctor-prescribed medications and can ensure compliance.

Optional Support Services

Daily nurse/physician/companion visits, in-home Podiatrist, physical therapy, speech therapy, beautician or manicurist services.
