Care and Services Customized for People Living with Dementia

Nutrition Services
Food is integral to life and an important component of memory care. We build our menu intentionally with nutritious food that has been shown to slow the loss of brain function. We offer healthy snacks throughout the day to maintain blood sugar levels. Proper hydration is always monitored. We promote protein at every meal and, if weight loss does occur, we offer high-calorie options.
Our nutrition and food services include:
- Three meals per day and snacks.
- Special preparation and presentation of food to meet the unique needs and varied abilities of our residents.
- Respect for cultural and religious choices.
- Assistance with dining and eating, if necessary.
Tailored for Each Resident
Our menu items are carefully prepared with consideration of a resident’s likes, skills and capabilities. We ensure modifications are made to maintain a person’s independence as long as possible. When forks and knives are no longer working, finger foods are prepared to help maintain a sense of dignity.
Encouraging Socialization
In addition to nutrition, food is used to foster socialization and community. Tables are set with other residents to encourage eating and enhance the sensory experience.
Additional Services
We work with you during the assessment to determine how much you would like to be involved in your loved one’s care. You can take advantage of the following services, or you can elect to handle these responsibilities yourself:
- Ordering health and personal supplies.
- Arranging physician appointments.
- Assisting with personal business matters.
Services for Non-residents
We recognize caring for loved ones with dementia presents itself with a unique set of challenges for all involved. If you are not ready to commit to full-time residency, we are pleased to offer the following options.
Respite Care
Many families providing long-term care for someone with Alzheimer’s disease or a related type of dementia express a desire for relief from caregiving. For loved ones living with memory loss, the benefits of respite care include a new stimulus, the chance to interact with new people, and the opportunity to share new and different experiences. Respite care is flexible. Call us for more information about respite care for your loved one.
30-Day Trial Stay
We offer a trial stay of up to 30 days, which may be helpful in making a longer-term decision. The daily charge covers accommodations in a safe and secure setting, meals, 24-hour care, and participation in programming and activities. Families find the cost compares favorably with in-home temporary care.
