Our Approach
Providence Mount St. Vincent, affectionately known as “The Mount,” is a vibrant living care community for older adults in West Seattle. Our philosophy of care is driven by the core Providence values and centers around the needs, preferences and desires of our residents. As a resident or patient, you will be treated with person-centered care. Our goal is to empower each resident and patient to choose the daily routines and services he or she wishes to receive.
As a result, each individual is able to maintain his or her independence, privacy and dignity. The Mount is home to more than 400 adults who need some type of assistance with their daily living or are in need of 24-hour care. We provide supportive activities, programs and therapies to help you remain physically and mentally active, as well as socially and spiritually engaged. Providing you with the highest quality care in a safe and comfortable environment is our top priority.

Assisted Living Apartments
Our assisted living apartments and program are specially designed for each individual resident. They emphasize the resident’s right to self determination of care and lifestyle and honor their privacy, individuality and their desires and preferences. The private apartments have private baths and kitchenettes, and many boast incredible city and territorial views. Residents have easy access to social interactions and activities; medical, dental and therapeutic services; as well as spiritual care. Children and animals are part of the community environment. Food is readily available 24 hours a day with many dining options to suit your preference.
As a resident you can expect:
- Self-empowerment and support in establishing your desired home environment while receiving as little or as much assistance in the daily activities of life as you require and desire.
- Collaboration and negotiation between you as the resident, your family and friends if you desire, your healthcare providers and our staff to determine the level of support which best fits your individual needs and preferences.
- Collaboration between you and our staff to weave a solid yet fluid network of support and care that builds relationship and community while respecting your privacy and gives you freedom of choice.
Independent Living Apartments
Our new independent living apartments offer the same vibrant community and engaging lifestyle, including house activities and Spiritual Care services, while maintaining an independent lifestyle. The availability of a greater level of assistance in the future provides added peace of mind.
The Mount community is rich, diverse, friendly and intergenerational. We offer many options for food, retail shopping, barber shop/beauty salon and also an on-site wellness and medical clinic.
Skilled Nursing Neighborhoods
Welcome to the neighborhood! Skilled nursing neighborhoods are clusters of private and shared rooms for about 20 residents who will benefit from 24-hour nursing care. Providence Mount St. Vincent is nationally recognized as setting the standard in resident-directed care.
Each neighborhood is decorated in its own color scheme and decor. Like most homes, the focus of each neighborhood is a large kitchen/dining/family area which serves as the central gathering spot for meals and activities. Resident rooms allow privacy and meeting areas provide companionship, activity and community. Residents are encouraged to decorate their rooms to make themselves feel at home and to reflect their passions and personalities.
Program Goal
The goal of the neighborhood care team is to respond to each resident’s needs and personal choices. Each staff member is there to honor the dignity and individuality of each resident, and to make every effort to encourage and help restore wellness as well as provide compassionate care, comfort and support.
