About Kimochi San Mateo

In 2016, Kimochi San Mateo extended our Japanese tradition of care for seniors, their families, and caregivers to those living in the Peninsula. Based on the successful model of Kimochi Home (established in San Francisco’s Japantown in 1983), Kimochi San Mateo houses 14 seniors for ambulatory and non-ambulatory care (wheelchair accessible). Residents are under 24-hour supervised, non-medical care. Staff provides assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and assistance in taking medications.

Residential Care Services

• 24 hours supervision in a secured building
• Three nutritious meals a day, with Japanese-style food prepared daily
• Social and recreational activities
• Assistance in scheduling medical appointments
• Monitoring of general health and development of appropriate care plans
• Housekeeping services including laundry
• Regular assessment to monitor care level
