Description
Quality of Life… With Assistance
Our residents enjoy the highest quality of life in an environment that is as home-like as possible.
At Tore’s Home® our focus is on providing our Western North Carolina residents with the highest quality of senior living choices – from assisted living, Alzheimer’s, memory and other dementia care, respite care, and extended care in our homes – to independent living in yours.
At Tore’s Home, the focus of our attention is on providing our residents with a quality of life despite of the challenges the aging process presents. We have accomplished this by custom designed small facilities with only 6-12 residents in each home. These homes are built by the management of Tore’s Home to ensure that it meets our requirements.
Services
We strive to offer services to meet all of our residents needs, from assisted living, Alzheimer’s, memory care, dementia care, respite care, and extended care in our homes – to independent living in yours.
Independent Living
Maintain your independence longer by allowing Tore’s Home® Services to care for you in your own home. Customizing a program to fit your needs, you will have the security of knowing that somebody will deliver goods and services to your door.
Assisted Living
Tore’s Assisted Living gives our residents another level of care in a true home environment. Tore’s Assisted Living provides a different level of care for residents who can no longer stay in their own home.
Extended Care
Non-Ambulatory and Bedridden Care
At Tore’s Home, allowing our clients to age in place without, in most cases, ever having to leave Tore’s Home is one of our most important missions.
Memory Care
Tore’s Home has several locked memory care facilities. You will have a very difficult time finding such facilities with only 6 residents in each facility.
- The facilities are very quiet which has proven to be very beneficial for residents suffering from dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
- Our staff is much more involved in all aspects of the resident’s care and is therefore able to attend to changes in their behavior very quickly.
- Each employee is a universal worker and therefore the residents will establish a better relationship with our staff. Such relationships are crucial for establishing trust between residents and staff.
End-of-Life and Hospice Care
Tore’s Home® understands the emotional difficulties we all face when a loved one approaches the final stages of his or her life. At Tore’s Home® we provide comfort and support for your loved one throughout the entire process.
There may be times when a resident may need to go to the hospital or hospice facility during the last few days of their lives to better manage pain. Such decisions will be determined by the hospice team.
The following are some key reasons why most of our residents choose to stay with Tore’s Home® during the final days of life:
- Comfortable, small, true home-like facilities (only 6-12 residents per facility)
- Exceptional care with one of the best staffing ratios in the industry
- More capable than most in catering to individualized needs due to the unique size of our facilities
- The Tore’s staff becomes like family to our residents and their loved ones
- We work very closely with area hospice agencies to assist in managing pain and other comfort issues
- Tore’s is an industry leader in Western North Carolina for providing virtually total care in a very small and intimate environment
- Each Tore facility is very quiet, making them perfect for end-of-life care
Our Facilities
Assistance In One of Our Homes
Tore’s Home has only two campuses because we have refused to compromise quality care for growth. The first location was established in 1996 in Brevard, North Carolina and the second was operational in 2015 in Flat Rock, North Carolina.
Homelike Facilities
Homes of six to twelve residents with large private rooms and sunny dining areas in safe residential neighborhoods.
Located in Quiet Residential Neighborhood
Views of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains surround the area.
Residents Enjoy Abundant Privacy
All residents have private rooms unless there is a desire to share a room.
Pet Friendly
Many of Tore’s Home’s rooms have dog doors to the outside to encourage residents to bring their own pets as long as the following criteria are met:
- Pet must not present a nuisance/danger to other residents or pets in the facility.
- Pets must have all necessary shots and be under a veterinarian care.
- The pet will have to be removed from the facility if we have residents in the facility that are allergic to pets.
- Tore’s Home reserves the right to deny any pet we do not deem appropriate. Please no Pit bulls, snakes, and elephants.
- Residents bringing their own pet must sign a separate agreement for the pet.
Activity programs are tailored to meet each resident’s wishes
Activity programs are tailored to meet residents’ needs. Upon admission, we try to determine what type of activity is vital to each resident and then try to accommodate such activity for each resident.
