An initial entry fee and monthly service fee entitles residents to one chef-prepared meal a day served in the Richland Place dining room, weekly housekeeping and linen service, regularly scheduled transportation, 24-hour security, a medical alert system, planned social engagements, guaranteed healthcare, and more.

The Health Center at Richland Place

We have created an environment that encourages residents and patients to feel at home. We believe that a patient’s comfort and satisfaction are essential to his or her well-being. Perhaps our greatest distinction is the area of rehabilitation. We have made a substantial investment in special equipment and furnishings so that our licensed therapists can offer comprehensive rehabilitation programs. We believe that rehabilitative therapies for all patients enhance quality of life.

The Richland Place Health Care Center offers the following major categories of care:

Skilled Nursing Care

The Health Center at Richland Place is licensed as a Skilled and Long Term Care Nursing Facility. We have 107 licensed beds. Our health center is part of our continuing care retirement community (CCRC) and is available to the public. We provide both temporary care, such as during a rehabilitative stay, and long term care as needed.

Our Health Center features 24-hour RN (registered nurse) coverage. We accept most medical insurance coverage according to Medicare guidelines, and we can assist you with long term care insurance policies. We participate in the Medicare program, but do not accept Medicaid as a payment source.

Appropriate candidates for care in the health center are individuals who meet one or more of the following criteria:

• Cannot take care of themselves because of a physical, emotional, or mental problem.
• Can no longer care for their own personal needs, such as eating, bathing, using the toilet, moving around, or taking medications.
• Requires more care than can be provided by their caregiver, and cannot live alone.
• Might wander away if unsupervised.
• Has extensive medical needs requiring daily attention or monitoring by an RN supervised by an MD.
• Is going to be discharged from the hospital and requires temporary Skilled Nursing care or rehabilitation before returning home or to a residential facility.
• Has been recommended for a Nursing Home by a physician.

Services Provided at the Health Center

We offer an array of services, in addition to basic skilled nursing care and custodial care. We provide a room, all meals, social activities, personal care, 24-hour nursing supervision and access to all medical services as needed.

Basic services include:

• A clean, furnished room (private or shared)
• Dietary services
• Housekeeping and linen service
• Personal (custodial) care
• Therapeutic recreation and activities
• 24 hour on-site medical staff: registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), and Certified Nurse Technicians (CNTs)
• Supervision by an in-house nurse practitioner and physicians who are on call to consult with staff and visit patients as needed
• Resident evaluation and care planning
• Restorative therapy
• Cable TV

For an additional fee, we provide the following additional services:

• Rehabilitation services: occupational, physical, respiratory and speech therapy
• Pharmacy, laboratory and radiology services
• Dental services
• Podiatry services

Beauty & Barber Shop

Our full-service and spa-like beauty salon and barber shop offers cuts, styling, sets, permanents, coloring, trims, and shaves as well as manicure and pedicure treatments. Our licensed cosmetologists offer stylish haircuts and styling, by appointment, at a nominal fee. Enjoy our laid-back beauty parlor atmosphere and leave our chairs feeling rejuvenated. For your overall health, relaxation, and well-being, a licensed massage therapist is also available by appointment.

Dining & Food Service

The food service and culinary staff of Richland Place wish to make your dining experience a pleasant one. Meal times are not just a time for nourishing your body, but also a time for rich social interactions. With this in mind, a lovely dining room setting has been created, extensive dining hours established, and a varied menu provided for you and your guests. Buffet and restaurant style dining is provided daily, plus take-out service, catering, and room service upon request. One meal a day is included in your monthly service fee. You may have lunch and dinner for an additional charge.

Fitness Center

Designed with your good health in mind, the Richland Place Fitness Center features the latest in exercise equipment, plus individual and group fitness programs. Open 24/7, our well-equipped fitness center includes treadmills, ellipticals, circuit training, weight training, stationary bicycles, recumbent bicycles, and more. Our personal trainer is on-site twice a week to help you achieve your fitness goals safely and effectively. We also offer nutrition and wellness seminars, yoga, Tai chi, Zumba, chair exercises, and strength and balance conditioning. Seminars are led by physical therapists, nutritionists, trainers and other wellness professionals.

Games & Activities Room

Our impressively-equipped Game & Activities Room is the ideal location for catching up with fellow residents and meeting new friends. Enjoy card or board games, puzzles, Trivial Pursuit, and bingo or challenge a neighbor to a game of billiards. Residents often reserve the room (at no additional fee) for private poker nights and Bridge Clubs. Many Richland Place residents gather in the inviting and cheery space to collectively craft, scrapbook, and indulge in a variety of hobbies and interests.

Guaranteed Health Care

As a resident of Richland Place, you have continual access to guaranteed, around-the-clock health care services at the Health Center at Richland Place. The Health Center offers assisted living, intermediate care, and skilled care with an emphasis on our top-notch rehabilitation services. Our long-term and skilled care services are offered in the adjoining healthcare center and are supervised by full-time physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and licensed practical nurses. Our staff includes physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists.

Guest Rooms

Guests of residents are always welcome at Richland Place! Our on-site accommodations are perfect for visiting friends and family. Guests have the choice of reserving a room with two double beds or a room with an expansive king-size bed. Each guest suite has a private bathroom, seating area, TV, a small refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker.

Library

Richland Place offers its residents a richly-stocked lending library and provides a relaxing atmosphere for enjoying the latest best-seller or a timeless classic. With more than 5,000 fiction and nonfiction volumes, 1,000 videos, and hundreds of audiobooks, book and movie lovers can rejoice. We have an impressive local Tennessee history and local author section as well!

Personal Transportation Services

For your convenience, personal transportation services are available Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm, which will take you anywhere you would like to go within a five (5)-mile radius. There is no additional fee for use of this service. The personal transportation service will also take residents to Nashville International Airport at no additional cost (even though the airport is beyond the five-mile radius). Richland Place also has a 24-passenger coach bus which is often used for planned outings and activities.

Private Dining Room & Lounge

Richland Place offers a spacious and elegant private dining room for special family gatherings. There is no charge for the room (which seats up to 14 comfortably) and residents have the option of dining from the daily menu, ordering from our catering menu, or having outside caterers service your event. It’s perfect for family gatherings, birthdays, and holidays. Connected to the private dining room is a cocktail lounge that can accommodate an additional 20-30 people, depending on the configuration.

Soda Shop / Deli

Complementary coffee is available in our soda shop, which is open Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 3:30pm. Breakfast foods, sandwiches, shakes, and other treats are also for sale at our Soda Shop/Deli during those hours. Dine-in or carry-out is available. A full breakfast is offered from 7:30 to 10:30, and lunch is served from 11:00am until 2:30pm. Also, a complementary men’s breakfast is offered every Tuesday along with a women’s breakfast every Wednesday.

Study

Our cozy, well-lit study offers residents a quiet place to browse the internet, send a few emails or print important documents. Residents enjoy sinking into a comfy, oversized chair and catching up on the latest news with a copy of The Tennessean, New York Times, or the Wall Street Journal. WiFi is available throughout the entire property.

Indoor Swimming Pool

Our elegant pool is ideal for both exercise and recreation. Our climate-controlled pool area features spacious windows for natural daytime lighting, room for pool-side reclining, and an inviting hot tub. The swimming pool is included in the monthly service fee; water exercise classes are offered daily at no additional fee. For example, swimming pool aerobics classes are scheduled daily at 9am and 10am.
