Our Medical Care Model

Our care model is what sets The Ganzhorn Suites apart from other assisted living centers. To decrease the risk of hospitalization, our care model is designed to manage medical conditions and provide rehabilitation services. We offer exceptional staffing levels with nurses on site 24 hours a day. Our staff-to-resident ratio is 1 to 6—nearly twice the levels at typical memory care centers and one of the highest you will see at any memory care community.

Our highly qualified, experienced team members have specialized dementia training and certification. In addition to becoming Certified Dementia Practitioners®, our caregivers pursue opportunities to learn more about dementia care with lectures from experts such as Teepa Snow and renowned Ohio State University Neurologist, Dr. Douglas Scharre.

At The Ganzhorn Suites, we offer 64 spacious private suites arranged using the “household model.” Each household is built around a kitchen, living room, and dining room to help residents feel comfortable and navigate more easily. Residents are encouraged to bring personal items to make the space their own.

Each apartment includes features that promote safety and independence:

• Private bathroom and full shower
• Bathroom built within line-of-sight of the bed with specialized night lighting
• Large sunny windows with independent climate controls
• Monitoring technology to ensure safety without compromising privacy

How Music Therapy Supports Well-Being

At The Ganzhorn Suites, we integrate music therapy as a clinical intervention facilitated by a certified music therapist. Scientific studies show that music stimulates areas of the brain linked to long-term memory and emotion that often remain functional even in advanced stages of memory loss.

Music Therapy Sessions May Include:
