Holistic Care, The Artis Way

To help people with dementia experience optimal well-being, we start with our signature Partnership Profile, a questionnaire that helps give us a thorough and thoughtful understanding of their history, interests, and personal qualities. We take these responses and create a structure, routine and care plan with opportunities for social connection and freedom to be one’s authentic self.

Our evidence-based, holistic well-being framework includes an optimal combination of a supportive environment, discreet care, social connection, and cognitive health.

Environment

Our intentionally designed communities promote safety and independence with adaptive, accessible design, décor that creates a sense of familiarity, and secure outdoor spaces that encourage exploration.

Care

We provide support with medication reminders and activities of daily living, along with better nutrition and exercise programs to enhance overall well-being.

Connection

We offer daily, well-rounded opportunities for participation and social engagement with neighbors, associates, friends, and family – and monthly outings – fostering a sense of autonomy, belonging, and purpose.

Cognitive Support

We engage residents in specialized programs and therapies designed to stimulate cognitive function and promote emotional well-being, including music and art therapy, memory-enhancing exercises and games, reminiscence therapy, and sensory stimulation exercises.

Memory Care Services

We believe optimal well-being is something to strive for throughout our lives. Memory care is our singular focus at Artis. Our approach to care is designed to help people living with Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia feel empowered and involved in their own care. We collaborate with the resident, their family, doctors, and care partners to create an intentional, assessment-based plan of care.

Memory Care Services Include:

• 24/7 supervision by on-site licensed nursing staff
• Associates with dementia care and CPR training on-site at all times
• Daily living assistance with showering, dressing/undressing, grooming, and oral care
• Assistance with using the restroom, personal hygiene, and continence support
• Medication management
• Housekeeping, linens, laundry, and suite maintenance
• Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and anytime snacks, with dietitian-approved menus
• Escorts to meals and events​

More advanced care services* are also available based on assessed resident needs, including:

• Mealtime assistance
• Complex medication management (nine or more routine meds and/or supplements)
• Diabetic support
• Total incontinence support
• Behavioral and emotional health support

• Four distinct, locally themed neighborhoods, each with a dedicated interior front porch, living room, dining room, and kitchen, 10,000+ sq. ft. of indoor space accessible to all residents
• 12,000+ sq. ft. of secure outdoor patio, porches and courtyards, with walking paths and seating for rest and family visits
• Town Square with amenities including a barbershop and beauty salon, program center, wellness center, and art studio

Whether you’re planning a trip, need time to recharge, or want to try memory care before making a decision – our short-term stays offer expert support and engaging experiences in a secure environment.

They will experience the same care and joy as our residents – as our honored guest. A short-term respite stay at Artis includes all the services and programs you see above. A 14-day minimum stay is required.
