Our History

TLC is a private pay community, and since opening our doors in 2020, it has become a regionally recognized leader in assisted living care in the Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin region. As the recipient of several consecutive awards for outstanding senior care and wellness, we’ve established ourselves as a regional leader in the assisted living space. Our campus features 62 state-of-the-art assisted living apartments in studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom floor plans, with a wide range of amenities and services all under one roof.

What wellness means to TLC

As a core component of our philosophy of care, wellness is a resident-centric approach to nutrition, physical activity, continued learning, and socialization. At TLC, we prioritize resident wellness through a series of key programs designed to support the main functions of assisted living, including:

• Dining: Nutritious, chef-prepared meals tailored to dietary needs.
• Daily assistance: Support with daily acuity and mobility to ensure residents move safely and confidently throughout their day.
• Personal care: Dignified assistance with personal hygiene and other activities of daily living.
• Medication assistance: Precise management and administration of prescriptions.
• General healthcare and medical support: Ongoing monitoring and professional coordination of care.

TLC Craft Center

At TLC, you’re never too old to play…
The wellness component of TLC’s philosophy of care centers on providing engaging, stimulating activities that promote a healthy mind and encourage social interaction between residents. Our craft center offers a welcoming environment for residents to participate in a variety of hands-on, artistic projects as an outlet for talents, passions, and hobbies.

The TLC craft center programming is facilitated by our dedicated staff — along with some assistance from volunteers — and family and friends are always welcome to attend.

Part of TLC’s philosophy of care is providing engaging, stimulating activities that exercise the mind and promote regular social interaction between our residents. Our media room is more than just a room — it’s a sanctuary for cognitive vitality and social connection. TLC offers a cinema-style experience under our roof. Whether it’s a nostalgic classic or a modern favorite, we ensure every screening is a special event.

Our media room also provides a perfect place for residents to participate in spiritual activities, attend guest speaker events, and connect with others in service of socialization and overall resident wellness.

TLC Library & Media Center

Stay connected with others and with yourself

Reliable WiFi access, computers, copies, fax machines, and other technology are important for residents to communicate and manage a variety of daily tasks. Our media center provides access to fast, easy-to-use internet and connected devices to help residents facilitate these tasks and retain autonomy and independence.

The TLC library is also housed in the media center space and offers a wide variety of fiction and nonfiction titles to suit almost any interest. We work with local libraries to help provide titles not currently housed on campus, and local library programming is also available to residents in our library & media center.

TLC Hair Salon

Look your best, feel your best

TLC’s full-service, on-site hair salon provides a variety of hair cutting, coloring, styling, and other treatments right here under our roof. Plus, friends and family may also use our hair salon services to make a routine haircut, coloring, or styling a fun, interactive day out without having to leave the TLC campus.

Our salon specialists have years of combined experience and can accommodate almost any cut, color, or styling request.
