Welcome to the Cliffs at Eagle Rock

The Cliffs at Eagle Rock is an award-winning, state-of-the-art Assisted Living facility nestled on 6.5 acres in West Orange, New Jersey. The Cliffs provides a superior environment of compassionate care for seniors who are in need of additional assistance with the activities of daily living (ADLs). Our residents benefit from a dedicated and attentive staff, stimulating activities, full-time health and wellness professionals, and an extraordinarily beautiful setting.

Approximately 35% of the first floor of The Cliffs is devoted to spacious common areas designed for our residents’ enjoyment and use. These areas include the Great Room and Library, Country Kitchen, Media Room, Activities and Rehab Room, and four different Dining Rooms, plus a Barber and Beauty Salon. The second floor provides additional common areas plus pool and game tables, and an internet lounge.

The 6.5-acre grounds of The Cliffs speak for themselves with walking paths around the perimeter, an upper and lower Gazebo, our beloved Brownstone Chapel, and the newly completed Anniversary Waterfall. The Center Courtyard is one-half acre nestled in the interior of The Cliffs and includes beautiful walkways, covered patios, flowering gardens, and trees. It is accessible from the Dining Room and Library and is a favorite of the residents.

Levels of Care

Nursing

The Cliffs provides a wide range of medical services for our residents, whether they are living an active life in the Assisted Living wing, being cared for in The Haven, or in need of the compassionate end-of-life services of a Hospice Care Team.

As expressed in our Mission Statement, The Cliffs staff believes “in providing the highest level of care within the context of a loving Christian community” and “in serving each resident as a unique individual who has been created in the image of God and therefore is worthy of receiving genuine respect and dignity throughout the aging process.”

Listed below is a list of medical amenities offered at The Cliffs:

• The Cliffs’ medical team includes a full-time Director of Nursing, Wellness Nurse Coordinator, and an exceptional medical staff of CNAs and CMAs.
• Our medical team also includes outside consultants such as podiatrists, dentists, visiting dietitian consultants, psychiatrists, psychologists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and chaplains.
• A pharmaceutical consultant reviews all residents’ medications and medical records monthly.
• Our Nursing Department and Wellness Center provide assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), which includes assistance with personal care and hygiene, the monitoring of medication and healthcare needs, and other services within the Assisted Living environment.
• There are RNs and LPNs on site daily.
• The Nursing Department performs regular health assessments of our residents and can assist with customized care of residents’ needs when ordering supplies and medications.
• Fox Rehab provides on-site physical therapy for our Cliffs’ residents, including speech and occupational therapy.
• The Cliffs utilizes outside vendors for laboratory needs and special procedures such as X-rays and Ultrasounds.
• Compassionate “End of Life Care” for our residents is provided by the outside services of Hospice.
• Through an outside agency, private nursing care can be arranged to assist residents who have special needs.
• The Cliffs can arrange scheduled complimentary transportation to doctors’ and specialists’ offices within a range of 10 miles.

Assisted Living

Residents have a choice of a studio or two-room suite.

Accommodations & Amenities:

• Activity programs customized to the different cognitive levels of the residents, including bus trips and outings, professional musicians, art classes, fitness training, shopping trips, movie and playhouse outings, and much more.
• Gracious Main Dining Room serving three meals a day.
• Private Dining Room for special occasions.

The Haven: Care for the Memory Impaired

The Haven is located on the first floor of the Cliffs and consists of 16 homelike suites, a large comfortable Living Room with TV, gas fireplace, an aquarium, a separate Dining Room, and an Activity Room. Haven residents also enjoy a 1/2-acre secure garden courtyard with walkways, flowering trees, flowers, and covered patios. The courtyard is used in summer months for outdoor activities, exercise programs, and refreshments, all enjoyed by Haven residents and their families.
