Personalized Care includes all the services of assisted senior living plus additional help with bathing, hygiene, dressing, incontinence and personal reminders to meals and activities. Our goal is to provide watchful supervision while always respecting a resident’s privacy and dignity.

Personal laundry, linen and terry change, daily light housekeeping and weekly full-service housekeeping are included. We work with residents and their families to determine the right frequency and amount of help.

Memory Care

Grand Villa offers a specially designed neighborhood where residents are free to explore, touch and choose their own activities, allowing them to live life with a purpose. Our exit controlled neighborhood provides all the services and amenities, enhanced with special features that meet the needs of residents with Alzheimer’s or dementia.

The Memory Care program blends cutting edge technology with the most current research in memory care to create activities specifically designed for Alzheimer’s. Residents are involved in daily therapeutic and recreational activities such as music therapy, pet therapy and sensory stimulation to encourage independence and preserve dignity.

Residents live in private or companion apartments which are comfortable and inviting and include many safety features. Each apartment is equipped with state of the art motion sensors. When a motion sensor is activated, an alert is sent to the caregivers who can then respond, as needed. Special lights are also activated in and around the bathroom, which provide a guiding light at night.

About the Memory Care Program

We focus on activities in Memory Care to enhance general health, personal relationships and communication skills. We concentrate on familiar abilities to avoid frustration at not being able to accomplish an activity. We laugh, smile and make eye contact. We give lots of positive encouragement. If a resident becomes anxious or upset, we take a break. Light exercise programs help residents maintain muscles and flexibility.

Life Skill Stations

When you visit our Memory Care Neighborhood you’ll see specially designed areas that spark memories, interest and interaction for our residents. Life Skill Stations recreate familiar situations from the past — like a baby nursery, a garden, an office or a hobby workbench. Our residents become socially engaged in these familiar situations, which can sustain their memories, as well as provide them with cognitive exercises and physical movement.

We have created a special environment where our residents are free to explore, touch and choose their own activities. Our indoor garden and the entire Memory Care Neighborhood provide a way for residents to engage in their surroundings.

Respite Care

Health and wellness services are available right here. General practitioners, podiatrists, dentists and optometrists visit Grand Villa regularly. Residents can make an appointment with a visiting physical or schedule a free ride to visit a local doctor’s office.

Our staff can coordinate other support services and supplies upon request. Home Health options such as registered nurses to assist with clinical needs, or aides to help with additional personal care are available at your physician’s request.

Villa Care Technology

Our Villa Care Technology, part of the Villa Care Program, helps to create and communicate a detailed resident care plan including all activities of daily living, medications, dietary requirements and more. This unique Resident Care Technology included state of the art Medication Management, which uses electronic medical records, medication ordering and delivery by a preferred provider, and the advanced system of alerts and reminders to improve accuracy and timely delivery of medication.

In addition, most generic over-the-counter medications are free of charge with use of our preferred pharmacy. The Villa Care Portal also sends automatic alerts, to all key personnel including the Executive Director, to ensure that all care and medications are provided on schedule, giving peace of mind to loved ones.

In our Memory Care Neighborhood we incorporate additional, important safety features. Each apartment is equipped with motion sensors which, when activated, send an alert to caregivers who can then respond. Special ambient lights are also activated in and around the bathroom, providing a guiding light during the night.

Also, the SafetyNet Tracking System provides yet another level of safety and security to our residents, during those times when they leave the community for a doctor’s appointment or for family outings.

At Grand Villa, we travel to countries far away and enjoy gourmet cuisines together from around the globe! And we never have to pack a bag! Once a month, the residents at Grand Villa “travel the world” by enjoying a Passport Dining meal together. We visit many countries, learn about what makes them special and then share a meal celebrating their unique cuisine. Each resident has a Dining Passport with stamps from the different countries, where we enter the date of our visit.

Tasty Traditions

Our Tasty Traditions program recognizes there are a lot of good cooks among our residents! We encourage our residents to share their favorite family recipes with the entire community. Submit your family recipe, and we’ll prepare it for everyone at a special meal! It’s all part of our family tradition.
