Kirkwood, located on 120 acres of forested land along the Cahaba River, is a nonprofit created by Independent Presbyterian Church. The spirit of ministry and compassion is evident in all levels of care: Independent Apartment and Cottage Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing, and Short-term Rehabilitation.

Independent Living

Enjoy the benefits of an active and secure environment without the stress and hassles of home maintenance or repairs. Housekeeping services, nutritious meals, and beautiful views from our apartments and cottages make you feel like you are staying at a resort.

Assisted Living

Our Assisted Living is set up to enable and encourage as much independence as possible, with the security of having assistance with daily tasks such as bathing, dressing, eating, and transportation.

Memory Care

Kirkwood provides 24-hour personal care for those with mild to moderate memory loss. Family members will rest easy knowing their loved ones are receiving the highest levels of companionship and care.

Skilled Nursing

Kirkwood offers both long-term private pay services and short-term rehabilitation services for those recovering from surgery, illness or injury. The care is customized with a higher ratio of caregivers to patients.
